Date Night

We went to Beauty and the Beast the other night for my mom's birthday. My mom is one of my closest friends. I adore everything about her. She is just wonderful! Oh dear... Here comes a list.
Ten reasons why my mom is so great-
1. Hilarious! She is so so so funny!
2. Smart as a whip. Everything I know, I learned from my mother.
3. Kind. She is so thoughtful and a great example of a good friend.
4. She is the best listener and she knows when she should give advice and when she should just listen
5. Plans really fun activities. She plans and plans and then plans some more. And I love every idea she has.
6. Loves me no matter what. My mom knows EVERYTHING about me (good and bad) and still loves me.
7. She is good at family. She taught us how to be patient with each other and forgive and be respectful.
8. Says the craziest stuff and totally catches me off guard. I have no idea where she comes up with half the crap she says. Sometimes I think she is really insane (in a good way).
9. Laughs at all the stupid things I do and say and thinks I am the funniest.
10. Did I mention that she is HILARIOUS? No one makes me laugh as hard as she does.

Christmas morning I awoke to sunshine! It was a Christmas miracle on 10th St.

Bossy Rabbit

Before leaving work the other night I grabbed a couple of ornaments off the shelf to tie up my parents gifts with. I got my dad a skunk wearing a suit and a crown. I got my mom this rabbit. I named her Bossy. When I got home I realized Bossy only had one leg. Upon closer inspection I concluded that she only ever had one leg. There were no tears or lose threads where a leg should have been. Oh well, no one loved Bossy any less because of her missing appendage. Hope your Christmas was a merry as mine!

The Spirit of Christmas

Wieden + Kennedy recently re-did their website. It is much better than their last website- way more fun to look at, easier to use, etc. It also has links to their different offices around the world and the blogs that they have established. Here is a link to their Portland blog. I LOVE this place and their creative design.

Ever since SwissMiss told us about this project back in September at Wieden + Kennedy I have been excited to see how it would work out. So far I love it. Day one, check!

DONE!

This semester is officially over! I am posting this .5 seconds after my last final... actually I am writing this while my teacher is still wrapping up. I am just so over this semester already! Here is the semester in photos. My wonderful seat mates stood in for me one day while I was out of town visiting crazy Karl.

Ace Hotel

I have been wanting to stay at this hotel for a long time now. I go hang out in the lobby sometimes. Mostly because the one in down town Portland has a really cool old photo booth in it. The rooms look even more extravagant. I need a good reason to go somewhere and stay here. Got any good reasons people?



The bathroom wallpaper in the lobby is also made from old player piano sheet music! It looks really cool on the walls. And, Erik (who is now a Pendleton Wool snob) informed me that all of the blankets were custom made by Pendleton Woolen Mills.

Fancy Birthday Party

My little Piper is turning THREEEEE!? Can you believe it? My sister told me that she wants to have a "fancy" birthday party and requested that I design her invites. Piper is a class act. The guests will receive top hats (for the boys) and feather boas (for the ladies) as party favors. I think my sister is really good at throwing parties, she has the best ideas.
