Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

sundance
Conor and I have been on a western kick. Lately we can't get enough western movies. Side note: my dad, also a fan of the western genre, calls them "shoot 'em ups". Anyway, in the past few days we have watched Wyatt Earp, The Magnificent Seven, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Grey Owl and Silverado. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid has been one of my favorites so far! It is visually beautiful and a great story. Any recommendations for us? What is your favorite shoot 'em up?

Conor knows one of my favorite shoot 'em ups is Hang 'Em High with Clint Eastwood. There was a really good one with Gregory Peck, I just can't remember the name of it.

"Duel in the Sun" with Joseph Cotten, Gregory Peck & Jennifer Jones. All amazing actors! The book is good too.

P.S. Did you know Steve McQueen was originally cast as the Sundance Kid? He wouldn't accept second billing to Newman.

"Once Upon a Time in The West" is one of my favorites. A more recent and underrated western is the "Assassination of Jesse James and the Coward Robert Ford", and "the proposition" which is quite brutal, but so good. Nick Cave composed the music for both "Assassination of Jesse James" and "The Proposition"

Erin congratulations on everything!
